COMMUNITY GROUPS
Our service is available to voluntary groups and community organisations serving the Annandale area, which should be constituted. In other words you should have your own identifiable organisation. Unfortunately we cannot offer help for events such as family airport trips, works outings or family wedding travel as these are services that can be bought from local coach and taxi firms. Please be sure that your group fits into the criteria specified in the literature, as use by other groups would affect our licence to operate.
We would recommend that all groups put forward their own driver for training. All new registered drivers for the minibuses will need to undertake MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) training. This is run locally and involves some classroom training and a driving assessment. The cost at present is £60 per person (including accessible training – if you will be transporting passengers in wheelchairs or using lift) and the driver receives a nationally recognised certificate on completion, which lasts for 4 years. Although we can sometimes provide a volunteer driver, there is limited availability.
